Donating your ICT equipment to help others

Digital Pipeline

Donating to disadvantaged communities within developing countries is easy. Remploy e-cycle is a key partner in the Digital Pipeline, refurbishing and re-imaging old computers donated to local schools and communities in developing countries, such as Africa.

The Digital Pipeline is a self-sustainable initiative that aims to provide schools and communities in developing countries with affordable access to refurbished computers, donated by UK organisations. This enables thousands of schoolchildren and young students in these communities to access and realise the full potential of information and communications technology.

Founded by Microsoft in 2004 and now a registered charity, Digital Pipeline enables thousands of school children and students to access their full potential by using and understanding computers. Through the charity, more than 10,000 students benefit from weekly access to ICT, improving their education, health and future employment prospects. A single shipment of 400 PCs provides 20 African schools with ICT facilities.

Microsoft® Approved Refurbisher scheme

Remploy e-cycle is a member of the new Microsoft® EMEA Approved Refurbisher (MAR) Scheme, an important step in supporting customer computer donations. The MAR programme is run by Microsoft® to help deliver the benefits of IT to educational institutions and registered charities on a not-for-profit basis.
