Re-use IT

Welcome to Re-use IT

IT refurbishing expert Remploy e-cycle is proud to announce the launch of its Re-use IT campaign.

Re-use IT aims to reduce the levels of IT waste – such as computers, PDAs, mobile phones and printers - being unnecessarily sent to landfill. Re-use IT does this by encouraging fully compliant re-use and recycling of otherwise redundant equipment for everyone - after the total erasure of all pre-existing data that may otherwise fall into the wrong hands.

Why Re-use IT?

The average UK citizen is thought to create 3.3 tonnes of electronic waste during the course of their lifetime1 but this figure can be dramatically and easily reduced through re-use from which everyone can benefit.

  • 40 per cent of businesses still have no policy in place for reducing, recycling, or re-using computer equipment
  • Nearly half (46 per cent) cite ‘data falling in to the wrong hands’ as their main reason for not recycling IT waste

Remploy e-cycle:

  • Guarantees complete and unrecoverable data erasure, essential in safeguarding against fraud as well as allowing for re-use, by using Government approved BLANCCO software
  • Has now overseen the donation of some 30,000 data safe PCs to African countries, not to mention many more closer to home, aiding the education of countless individuals and communities
